Digital Photo PRO magazine

Following my Scissor Sisters/Rock Photography Masterclass feature with Digital SLR User magazine in October 2007, their sister publication Digital Photo Pro asked me to write a Pro Blog for them. Newton Faulner - Acoustic Magazine

One of my Newton Faulner photos from 'Get Loaded in the Park' was published in the October/November 2007 issue of Acoustic magazine in the UK.

Here it is, my first major magazine feature. Not happy with the lack of attention that rock photography gets in the professional photo magazines (how many more articles on landscape and wildlife photography do we need?), I contacted Digital SLR User Magazine to see if they'd be interested in doing a feature on shooting a live show. Charlotte, the features editor, got really excited about the idea and within fours days I managed to sort us both out with photo passes to shoot the Scissor Sisters at the O2 Arena in London. My task for the evening was to teach Charlotte, who'd never shot a live show before, everything she needed to know about taking photos at a gig. Judging by the results, I did a pretty decent job of explaining the basics to her. The article can be found in the October 2007 issue of Digital SLR User Magazine in the UK. It's probably one of the coolest things I've done to date as a photographer.A big thanks to Charlotte and Digital SLR User Magazine for letting me do the feature with them.

Classic Rock Magazine

In the September 2007 issue of Classic Rock magazine, my shot of Joe Satriani was printed in the album review section. The photo was taken at Hyde Park Calling in June 2007.

In the June 2007 issue of UK photography magazine Digital Camera my photo of Johnny Marr of Modest Mouse was printed in the Hotshots section. I had previously been told it may be featured in the May issue so when it didn't get included I thought they had changed their mind. To my complete surprise they printed the photo in the June issue instead.

Catalogue

In 2005 my photo of John Taylor (bottom left hand corner) appeared in the printed and online edition of the official 2005 Ibanez Product Catlalogue. The photo was taken in Berlin in October 2004.
